If illness or other circumstances prevent you sitting an official examination or adversely affect your performance in an official examination, you may apply for Special Consideration. In this case you will be seeking a Deferred Examination.
If the Head of School approves your application you will be awarded a DX grade and will sit a Deferred Examinations when they are conducted during the following end of session examination period.
How to apply
You can apply for a Deferred Examination using the Application for Special Consideration.
It is important that all applications are supported by documentation. If you are applying for a Deferred Exam because of illness, you will also need to submit the Charles Sturt University Student Medical Certificate form [PDF], which needs to be filled out by a medical practitioner.
Deadlines for submission
Apply for special consideration as soon as possible after the circumstances have occurred.
If you cannot attend your exam due to illness or misadventure, you have up to three working days after the exam date to apply for a Deferred Exam using Request for Special Consideration and Charles Sturt University Student Medical Certificate form.
If you choose to submit a Request for Special Consideration and the circumstances are not medical, please advise your Subject Coordinator and attach third party evidence and a statutory declaration with your request.
