Faculty and Division Awards

The Charles Sturt University Faculty and Division awards are an annual celebration of excellence and outstanding achievements demonstrated by individuals and teams within each management area of the University.
Each year, up to 81 individual and/or team awards are presented to both General and Academic staff across each of the categories listed below:

Award nominations are based on sustained contributions or a single outstanding achievement, as determined by Managers and Supervisors. The Delegated Officer to approve awards for each management area, is either the Dean, Executive Director, Deputy Vice-Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor.
As 'One University', we congratulate and recognise all staff who are nominated for awards for their ongoing contributions and commitment to excellence.
Each Faculty and Division has a maximum number of awards in which they are able to allocate each year, as outlined in the table below.

- Awards are open to all Academic and General staff who currently hold a continuing or fixed-term appointment at CSU, and have successfully completed probation.
- Casual staff may not be nominated for individual award, but may be included within team nominations.
- Awards do not apply to, honorary, visiting, adjunct or executive staff.
- Staff are eligible to receive one individual award, in one category only.
- An individual staff member cannot receive an individual award and a team award for the same achievement in any year.
- Individuals and teams can be nominated for a Faculty or Division Award every year.
- During March - April 2013, Managers and Supervisors identify individuals and/or teams and provide a nomination in writing to the relevant Dean, Executive Director, Deputy Vice-Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor in one of the categories listed above. (Please note the maximum number of awards available per management area).
- The Manager or Supervisor will identify the award category and attached evidence to support each nomination. Evidence may be collected as a result of the Performance Management and Development Scheme process.
- Managers and Supervisors must ensure that each staff member is eligible to be nominated for an award.
- For Academic staff who report to a Deputy Vice Chancellor, the DVC nominates outstanding staff to the relevant Dean for a Faculty Award.
- Staff who receive a Faculty or Division award may also be nominated to be considered for a Vice-Chancellor's Award.
- The Dean, Executive Director, Deputy Vice-Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor will review each nomination and determine the award recipients for either individual or teams awards and notify their Management team and the individual recipients. An formal announcement may be made from the Dean etc to all staff within the Faculty or Division.
- The executive Officer of each management area forwards the Notification of Awards form electronically to: dmullins@csu.edu.au by 21 June 2013.
- All of the Faculty and Division Awards are formally presented along with the Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence at the following presentation ceremonies:
Bathurst Ceremony: 14 August 2013, James Hardie Room
Wagga Wagga Ceremony: 28 August 2013, Joyles Hall
- Each Dean, Executive Director, Deputy Vice-Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor will present each award recipient with their certificate during the presentation ceremonies.
- All CSU staff, award nominees and award recipients are invited to attend the presentation ceremonies.
- Award recipients are also invited to ask family, colleagues and friends to accompany them during the presentation of awards.
