The Southern NSW Innovation Hub Impact Report 2021-2024 is an opportunity to reflect on our achievements to date, and the work done to provide farmers and communities with valuable knowledge, tools and practices to enhance drought preparedness and create sustainable agriculture, landscapes and communities.
Highlights include our investment growth from an initial $19.8 million in cash and in-kind contributions in 2021 to a cumulative $58.8 million in 2024. This included investment in 13 on-ground projects to build drought resilience in southern NSW, valued at almost $32 million (cash and in-kind).
A REMPLAN analysis, using area-specific data, was conducted in 2023 and found that the flow-on effect of these investments could lead to an additional $127.5 million of economic output across the southern NSW region. Corresponding to this were increases in employment, including 103 jobs and $24.1 million in wages and salaries, and $50.3 million in value-added economic activity.
