How to partner with the Hub

A core objective of the Southern NSW Innovation Hub is to attract investment into priority projects, activities, and programs across southern NSW, ensuring existing knowledge is adopted, and new knowledge is generated and put into practice.

To achieve this, we partner with a broad range of stakeholders, including all levels of government, universities, industry bodies, farming systems groups, not-for-profit organisations, private sector organisations, farmers, First Nations communities, and rural and regional communities.

We partner with stakeholders to:

  • Support participatory design processes to turn ideas into initiatives using the Pathways to Impact Framework
  • Develop initiatives into investment-ready project proposals for upcoming funding rounds or other investment opportunities.
  • Form and strengthen consortia to enhance collaboration, capability, and impact.
  • Provide consortia leadership and project coordination, where appropriate, to support effective delivery and governance.
  • Provide support to projects that align with the Hub’s Impact Roadmap in the form of project design advice, letters of support, communications and promotions, extension and adoption advice and other direct involvement opportunities.

We are committed to partnering with First Nations communities in culturally respectful and appropriate ways. We encourage project approaches that centre First Nations knowledge and experience, and uphold cultural values, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), and data sovereignty.

We will align our activities to these priorities and focus on collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver this Roadmap. Where appropriate, we will also support momentum for priorities that represent long-term, systemic changes extending beyond a five-year time frame.

Important to note

Southern NSW Innovation Hub plays a critical role in embedding contemporary extension and adoption practices across all initiatives, programs, and projects. As such, our Pathways to Impact Framework and/or Co-Design model will be integrated into all work to drive stronger adoption.

All projects will be supported by robust data and evidence that identify priority sectors, regions and communities. Tools such as our Early Insights for Resilient Communities Dashboard and NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s Climate Vulnerability Assessment and Seasonal Conditions and Drought tools will be applied as appropriate.

We reserve the right to incorporate new or emerging tools and resources as they become available.

Given our multilayered governance structure, some projects may require approval through various levels of delegated authority. This may affect timing, refinement of project concepts, and decisions regarding approval or non-approval. Approval pathways may include the Hub Board, Charles Sturt University, Hub partners and/or the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
