About the program

Drought and climate uncertainty create complex challenges for farming businesses. Making the right decision at the right time can have a significant impact on productivity, risk, and drought resilience.

The Decision Points: Drought Resilience Program supports producers across the southern half of NSW by funding practical, locally delivered activities that build confidence, strengthen decision-making capability, and support the adoption of preparedness and recovery strategies.

Round 1 Decision Points extension and adoption activities

West Hume Landcare – Feed, Forecast & Flock Field Day: Practical Tools for Smarter Sheep Management: A producer field day at Jindera on 3 September 2026 combining seasonal forecasting, feed budgeting, EID technology and sheep containment management to support more informed livestock and drought preparedness decisions.

The Livestock Coach – Managing seasonal risk through containment feeding and pasture decisions: A workshop and follow-up webinar to help livestock producers make informed decisions about pasture management, containment feeding, feed budgeting, nutrition, seasonal risk and business resilience.

Tablelands Farming Systems – Feeding Stock Through Seasonal Uncertainty: An on-farm workshop focused on feeding economics, ration formulation, feed evaluation and practical decision-making to improve livestock performance and resilience during variable seasonal conditions.
