Biography

Dr Jeremy Johnson is a postdoctoral researcher at Charles Sturt University’s Gulbali Institute, working in partnership with the University of Melbourne and Natural Hazards Research Australia. With connections to both Indigenous and colonial cultures, Jeremy brings these perspectives together in his research on pyrodiversity and fire mosaics. His work explores how variation in fire regimes shapes biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, and land management outcomes. Jeremy completed his PhD in forest and fire ecology at the University of Melbourne in 2025, examining the impacts of fire, drought, and topography on wildlife. He is dedicated to connecting research, culture, and practice to strengthen the stewardship of Country.
