Biography

As a descendant of the Adnyamathanha Nation and as an Australian I value opportunities for engagement with other Australian First Nations researchers, and Indigenous-centred research. I have a strong collaborative background across a range of cultural contexts, academic disciplines, industry frameworks, and socio-political interests.

I am a multi-disciplinary researcher specialising in Indigenous Knowledges, sustainable land use, Ethnoarchaeology, and First Nations language revitalisation. My international research interests include Indigenous sovereignty and human rights, ethical and moral dilemmas in research and education, and decolonisation of research methods and methodologies.

I am research-active and have capacity to supervise HDR candidates, collaborate on research projects and writing for publication, and involvement in community-based collaborative research activities.  As a person who has lived and worked in regional Australia for many years I highly value opportunities to engage in regional, remote, and very remote research and education.

Research
  • Water sovereignty and First Nations rights
